    4 wheeler mechanics

Needin some help, its a 2012 Honda Recon when I go to start it it just goes click click when I hit the button. Thought maybe it was the battery, but its good and we just put a new starter solenoid on it and it did the same thing. Any ideas? Starter maybe? Thanks in advance.

It might be the starter I was having the same problem on my arctic cat I think I replaced the solenoid and the starter.

Think we may have to try that next, you can feel the click in the starter solenoid

Think I may have just answered my own question, apparently its a common issue with the brushes in the starter

Tap tap it with a hammer. It may unstick them. Then you need to replace

Go straight.from the.battery to the starter with jumper cables. If itworks then you have bad.battery cables.connection or bad solenoid.

We did that and got it cranked up, definitely the brushes in the starter

                Plausible scenario:

Deep water crossing, filled the starter up with water, and now it’s stuck.

Keeps happening to my Polaris, every time I take it to the mountains.

Put in a new starter after confirming that power does go through the solenoid.

When you install that starter, pull out the drain plug

After tapping it a few times it cranked right up, but you could hear something wasnt right with the starter. Got a new one on the way[emoji1303]

                      Bendix Gear isn’t retracting properly.

Order a rebuild kit, and watch a how-to video on YouTube. Then you have a spare starter on the shelf for just a few bucks, and maybe an hour worth of effort.
