    T/C compass in 6.5 creedmoor

Found one today at academy for $299. Was looking to get a Ruger American Predator in same round.

Do any of y'all have one and how does it shoot?

Between the two. Which one would be better. Why?

I'll be doing some research while I wait on answers.

    Thanks y'all.

RAP all day over the Compass. It’s another $100+ though.

I would also research and look at the Mossberg Patriot. For a $300 gun, it really seems like a heck of a value. I’ve been contemplating getting one myself just as a budget gun.

Got both rifles...TC in .22/250 and RAP in 6.5 CM. I don’t see a ton of difference in the two rifles at this point. The trigger is easier to adjust on the Ruger but that’s about it.

I've got one and like it a lot for an entry rifle, felt better to me than the rugged

Thanks you TCB. from what I'm seeing there isn't a lot of real differences. Does the compass have 5R rifling.

I'm a dad of 5 and wanting to build a budget long range. The t/c @ $299 is very pleasing. I can get the RAP for $375 through a buddy.
Thanks, I never thought of the Mossberg. I'll give them a look.

I’d suggest feeling the trigger of each unless you plan on dropping one in.

I bought one back in December and have been really happy with it. I bought a new trigger spring online for $10 and it's a totally different gun. With factory ammo it shoots .5 moa at 100 yards. I would suggest it for the price any day. After the rebate they had going I picked mine up for $200

We own a few in different calibers and three are 3 6.5. They shoot great, easy moa at 100, I believe they will be under. MOA, I just have only shot my 10 times, was sighting in scope and breaking in. Barrel is threaded if you ever want suppressor. Stock is stiff, not as flimsy as other entry level synthetics. Trigger is more difficult to adjust, but not undoable.
There is a 75 rebate through TC right now. In addition, you can get that rifle cheaper online, Kentucky gun company is one site, they have vortex combo as well. You will need to factor in FFL cost, but may find a better deal. gunbuyer.com and sportsmans outdoor superstore is another site.
I have a ruger American in 30-06, great gun and no complaints. The cost difference of at least 100$, i'd get the Compass.

I am buying through a buddy(FFL) so cost will be cheaper than most. I have read reveiws and watched several YouTube(take with a grain of salt) videos. They all seem to be liking the compass. The stock isn't a real factor cause it will get changed out soon no matter what I get. I do like the 5R rifling in the T/C but the light barrel throws me off a bit. I like the heavier barrel of the Ruger. But the cost is real pleasing of the T/C.

Has anyone who sent off the T/C compass rebate form received a reply email that they got it or that it is processing ?
I sent it in twice via email and so far no reply .

The post trigger recall compasses come with a trigger that is not really adjustable.

I put the $10 spring in today but accidentally ordered the "hunter" spring instead of the "target" spring that is recommended and wound up with a ~3.75# pull after replacing the top trigger nut with a .031" thick brass washer.
According to the you tube vids, the target spring with both nuts left in place provides a 3.5# pull. Easy to do, and provides a decent enough trigger for little time and money invested.

thanks, I plugged in my info a few different ways and can see previous rebates for a Burris sight and a Smith and Wesson pistol, but nothing on the T/C , guess I need to re submit.

Did you do yours online or mail it in?

I think I did this one online and uploaded my receipt. I mailed in the Savage rebate.
