    Looking for lease, Rusk County

Anybody know of anything around Henderson in Rusk County? Need a lease for 2-3 guys. Don't need a house or electric or anything like that. Just a place to hunt. Shoot me a PM please if you have or know of anything. We can discuss details.

Just find a nice place, set up and hunt. No lease needed. That's what the locals did to me when I hunted Alto anyway. I had poachers shooting not 100 yards between my two setups when I was in the stand...never again for me. Good luck bud.

I hunted in Alto for 8 years, but we didn't have any problems with poachers (that we were aware of). We did have problems with thieves though!! We were off of Mail Route Road and you had to go through another lease just to get to ours.

          Rusk County isn't in Alto.

I've hunted around Henderson all my life and rarely had problems. Had just as many out in West Texas.

Right. Alto is in Cherokee County, but it isn't far from Rusk County. I live just outside Henderson and I can be in Alto in close to 30 minutes. As stated before, I never had a problem with poachers (that I knew of), but we did have a 4-wheeler stolen from out lease as well as diesel out of the Forestry Services equipment. The kicker was that the jerk from the Forestry Service accused us of stealing his diesel, even after we told him about the 4-wheeler being stolen.

I hunt in Mullin, which is about a 4.5 hour drive, but I cannot make it every weekend. I have been looking for a small place for my wife and I to hunt locally, but there is nothing available for under $1k and I am not willing to drop that much in a place that I won't hunt much.

Thanks yall. We have been on a little place currently with no issues. Just deer season. Would be nice for it to be year round. But hoping to find something or work something out with someone.

You might try contacting the Kangergas, they own many, many acres scattered all over Rusk Co. They own the place where I hunt near Good Springs. They usually have a waiting list for their places , but you never know. Probably google them for a number. I don't have it.

I will tell you this. As long as you are a good leasee, and don't even think about damaging a pine tree, you can have the lease as long as you want it. They WILL NOT let anyone lease it out from under you. Good people. Good luck and if you find anything and need another hunter, I'm always looking to better my position. I'm trying to sell my place at Mt. Enterprise and will be out one place to hunt if I do.

I'll try googling them now for a number. Yeah we have never had a complaint before. For sure I'll let you know. I'll send you a PM if I find out anything.

I just called the office and nothing available and she said it is rare for them to come available but she took my name and number for what its worth. That name Kangerga was familiar and then it clicked after the phone call that Morgan Kangerga and my brother played ball together and his dad Russell and my Dad used to run the ball field together as well. I was just a little kid back then. Around 7-8 I think.

This is good to know! I deal with Mrs Kangerga daily. We have leases all around their house.
