Did you just disqualify yourself from Boone and Crockett?

Here's a rule buried in their bible of fair chase...

    ● Trail cameras can be a helpful tool in game management and selective hunting. The use of devices that transmit captured or live images or video from the field back to the hunter crosses the line of fair chase.

I don't personally have any of these, but how many of you knew that using a cellular camera would disqualify you from B&C?

I guess I will have to come up with my own scoring system now.

Also if you have a dog trail and find your deer and tracker kills him (as they usually do) he cannot qualify

Right. Because no one enters deer anymore. Or into P&Y who’s rules usually mirror b&c

Personally I’m not a fan of either organization for many reasons and won’t ever enter anything, but with the popularity of these cameras I thought some might be interested.

Not sure why all the hate for B&C. Seems to be an honorable organization to me

My opinion is they’re the epitome of elitism.

They’ve taken a stance on canned hunting but in that process they haven’t just alienated small kick and shoot type places but anything with high fence. Now they include rules that disqualify people that use wireless cameras, scopes with built in rangefinders, illuminated pins, luminocks, etc. I’m surprised they still allow feeders.

This entire organization wasn’t founded for conservation it was founded by elitists. At the turn of the century people were still mainly hunting for food not for horns. These days, unless you’re hunting with a teddy Roosevelt commemorative trapdoor rifle in a tweed jacket, you’re not B&C material.

Not to mention, nets are for fish.
