    Should I go pig hunting?

It’s 730pm. Dark as all get out. No pigs in camera in 4 weeks. Ain’t been in 2 weeks.

Landowner owner put out a ground blind in the pasture to the North of me. We moved my feeder there too, since I’ve not see but one pig, 6 weeks ago on camera.

I’ll probably deer hunt in the AM..

Sounds like you've made up your mind not to but I will say, can't shoot em if ya don't go.

No. Don't disappoint yourself like that. Family time the next 36 hours. It will pay off later. The time is coming when acorns and other food will dwindle and they'll be back to the feeders.

I’m just tired and worn down. Life’s been a real grind lately.

Was hoping to take my wife to the lease in Brady over the weekend.
Well she’s not going. I’m not feeling going by myself. It’s way more funner sharing it with the ones you love. Just wish she’d share too.

Yes it is more fun, I can't argue that. I just know that sometimes it's good to go and not care if ya gonna see anything or not. Sometimes a sit is about much more than the hunting...

Thanks. I've got 3 here so far. All after 10.
I'm going to be back in the am after a couple does.

Well, I think one or some come up on me from behind me on my left, downwind, about 930.
I heard a grunt and some noise. I just froze hoping they'd come back, they didn't.
That area is my no fire zone. Roads, houses, cows etc. If I had my 5.56, MAYBE if I had a good broadside shot. Why? Great question. I've shot 6 deer, last 2 seasons combined, & 5 pigs with the VMax I'm currently using. Only had 2 pass though shots.

First was a sow, hit her in the belly when she stepped forward. ;Mad: Luckily it hit a piglet behind her. 20 yard shot.
Second was a doe. Hit her low and just happened to him hey in the pump house. 18 yd shot.

Shoulder shot my first, only deer so far, buck this year at 14 yds. Recovered bullet in the of shoulder just under the skin.

That's why I MIGHT have taken the shot.

Good decision not shooting towards unknown targets.. especially houses. Even if you only had two pass throughs that’s still two to many to risk. Keep at it, you’ll get ya one.
