These will be left in Kansas year round. Won’t be hunting in summer. I am wanting to make them quieter and also more bearable for those late season hunts. Buddy of mine has killed his bigger bucks after thanksgiving and after rifle season ends. He says its frigid.
Egg crate foam wrapped on the inside. One of the guys on the ranch I hunt has done this. He said it insulates it pretty well. He may see this thread and chime in.
I don't really understand what the insulation is for? In a space that small a Mr Buddy heater will heat it with or without insulation. In the summer the insulation will not do anything, unless you are running some sort of cooling system. It would give some sound absorption, but you could do that with carpet or something similiar
I think you're wasting your time with insulation. If there's no heat source it will still be cold inside and out.
Now if you could insulate the floor so your feet aren't the ground then a minimum heat source would do wonders imo.
I don't remember the name but they were discussed recently on here is a outer shield that slips over your hunting boots. They work really well, I've used them to hunt in the 30-35 degree mark for long sits in a tripod.
Mr buddy will be inside. I’ve hunted up there in those cold temps with highs not getting out of the 20’ with mr buddies and it was still cold. Also want to make them quiet.
These aren’t going to used in Texas and won’t be hunted in the summer. I’m looking at late seasons hunts. Not September or October. The earliest would be Nov.
