My 9 yr old is hunting with me this year and if his head wasn't attached he would lose it, seems fairly common for a 9yr old. But I don't want him to lose his license. Any law against me carrying it in my wallet?

For kids at least I think it's no problem. I've been checked a couple of times with a kid and I was holding his license for the same reason as you.

I'm 36 and my dad should probably carry mine[emoji33]
I've had to turn around and go get mine a few times. Once I switched from a wallet to a front pocket wallet/money clip I leave my hunting license in my truck or at the house.

I carry my son's, even when he's not with me. I'm interested to know if there's a law against it also. Never really thought much about it until now. I guess they could accuse you of intending to tag a deer with his tag. I have been checked by a game warden while fishing. I had mine and my wife's and my buddy had his girlfriend's. They didn't say anything about that, but it's a little different since you don't have to use tags.

A little bit different for my son as he was 16 yrs. old before he started hunting. I gave him a small (approx. 3"x4") zippered nylon pouch to carry his hunting license, a small Swiss Army knife, zip ties, and a lanyard with a whistle and small squeeze activated flashlight and told him he was responsible for always carrying the pouch and lanyard on him whenever we were in the field hunting. So far, 4 yrs. later, he has always kept up with his license and lanyard.
Regards,
Dave
