    Choosing a release

I just got a new to me bow last week. I traded for a bare Matthews ZXT 29" draw 50-60lb limbs. I will probably be taking the bow to on target in Canton soon to get it all set up.

I went into cabelas today and tried quite a few releases that they had on display. I liked the feel of the TruBal Glory but it had a hair trigger. It surprised me everytime it went off.

What do yall look for in a release? I'm wanting to stick to a wrist strap trigger style for now.

It's all up to what you like.

I personally love my truefire hardcore. I have 2 of em and don't plan on changing anytime soon.

I tried a few at On Target when I got my bow set up. They will probably let you try several to see what you like. I got the Trufire Edge.

I shoot a wrist strap releas't shot one yet, but I am thinking of picking up a True Fire Panic-Xe that is no longer made; still shoots great.

I am also a fan of the Tru Ball Wise Guy.

I havn't shot one yet but I am thinking of picking up a True Fire Panic-X; supposedly you can set it so as to not punch the trigger. If it works as advertised I thnk it will be a great release and training aide..

Really liked my Scott shark, any of the Scott wrist releases for that matter. But when I switched to a stanislawski thumb release it was a huge improvement.

Been shooting the Scott little goose for several years now with no intention of switching.

Strongly recommend the tru ball fang GS....it has different springs you can adjust the tension on great release
