CVA Stalker 44 Mag Range Report

Just put an upgraded scope (NIKON Pro Hunter 2-7X) on Vs the factory 3-9 Konus and worked up some Handloads & Factory..

Handload - WIN 296 & 300 Gr Speer JSP

Factory Load/s - Winchester 225 Gr Razorbacks
PPU 300 Gr JSP
MAGTECH 300 Gr JSP

Dang ! All shoot the same point of impact at 100 yards and get a 2-3" Group

Short Range Rifle and can't wait to try it out on some Hogs !

I had handi-rifle in 44 mag that I used during the Louisiana "primitive" season. Killed several pigs and a few deer with it using Hornady Leverevolution ammo and at the short ranges (sub 50 yards) I shot animals it was wicked.

I hsve on of those guns and use it in the Mississippi "primitive" season. It has worked for quite a few deer. The Ruger 44mag carbine, Winchester 94, Remington 788, a custom 44 Mag bolt action and marlin 44 Mag as well as a Marlin 1894 have all worked well on deer and hogs inside 125 yards.

2-3 inch groups at 100 yards are good enough for killing hogs or deer at 100 yards with the 44. That is the same scope that is on my handy rifle in 44 and on the 357 lever action. Good choice for close range hunting

Yes I know as I too traded a 44 Mag Handi-Rifle and Marlin 1894 44 Mag when I was young and $ was in short supply.

The CVA Stalker has impressed me. I have the 44 Mag and my daughter has a 223 Rem but has taken over my Win 70 243 Win.
