    Early morning boar

Well I headed to the blind Saturday morning around 6:45 am and got in and started getting my cameras set up and I looked out the window and see this guy under the feeder. It was still dark obviously and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Hard to believe I could walk in and climb up the ladder to my blind only 20 yards from this guy and him not see or hear me. So I eased the window open for a better look and sure enough he’s real. Now I just had to hope he would stick around until I could see good enough to shoot him! 30 minutes seemed like a lifetime but I finally decided to draw on him. Still just a blob in my sights but I held the pin on his shoulder and let it fly. Hit looked good! Not a pass through so my nocturnal was on the move. He ran through some brush about 30 yards out and my nocturnal was no longer with him. I watched him circle around about 80-90 yards out and I could tell he was hurting. He dropped off in a low area and I lost sight of him.
I gave it about an hour before I went to track him. I shot him with my Mathews Nocam HTX and an Easton FMJ topped with a 125 grain rage hypodermic +P. Total arrow weight is 501 grains. I’ll let the blood trail video say the rest

I’ve got a video of the shot but it’s so dark it’s hard to see. I’ll post it if I can get it lightened up.

    Boar weighed 175.8 lbs

That Rage plowed right through the grizzle plate area with no problems. Good shooting and congrats. KAP!

Yeah I was kinda impressed with the rage when I saw where it hit him. By the looks of my arrow it probably hit the offside shoulder. Arrow just worked itself out after he ran about 30 yards. Always good to get a $30 bullet back

            Cool. Great shot!

You must have been in stealth mode getting into that blind.

Seems like that one sprung a major leak----that's the kind of blood trail I like.

Ray Charles could follow that one

Was that entry or exit on his left?
