    Victoria Area Golf cart repairs

Is there anyone in the Victoria area that has a good deal of knowledge on electric golf carts? My cart has been running great for the year I've had it and then it seems like just all of a sudden it won't run. I can plug it in and charge it and it charges until charger cuts off several hours later then I unplug and get on and within 30 seconds the thing will barely run. All battery connections are good and snug. I cannot believe the batteries would just go south that quick without showing signs of weakening but could be wrong. Anyone that can offer advice I'm open ears.

Duffy's was working on em for a while, not sure if they still are. I would take it by Interstate and get Calvins guys to check the batteries just to be sure.

Todd, I had this same problem before and even brought it to a repair person. I am not saying this is your case, but is the water in the batteries up to par? Are the batteries full? That was my problem a simple fix that I over looked.

Only other issue I can think of would be a bad solenoid.

Man I don't like taking stuff to Duffy's

May give Mr. Simpson a call and see if he just needs batteries brought or the entire cart.

What do you mean by up to par??? Yes they are full but is there something else I should check on them? It's a 4 x 12volt set up.

Brushes to the motor maybe worn.

Yeah, I'm not a big fun of em either but not sure of anyone else who works on carts anymore.

Hey Todd, do you have a voltmeter? Check it about 8 hrs after you fully charge it and then after riding it for 30 mins. Shouldn't drop more than one volt. Pm me your number if you wanna talk more. I learned A LOT when rebuilding mine.

I think Atzenhoffers deals with golf carts over at their accessories shop, but I'm not sure if they only work on theirs or if they take work in from the public.

Sounds like a dead cell or cells.
If it were me, I would break all the connections between the batteries and charge each of them independently at minimal amperage (1-2 amps) overnight.

A $29 load tester from somewhere like Harbor Freight will tell you which battery if thats what it is.
