    Barndo build

We bought 41.25 acres in Peaster and are starting to build a barndo. Dirt work is done for the pads, temp pole is up and water well is in.

I was worried about the grass under all the trees being Johnson grass, took some up to the ag extension and they say it's called purple top, and not harmful to live stock.

The plan is to build the barndo 32'x65' then my shop 50'x80' and once our current house sells then build a house/pool etc out there. Did the dirt work for all three pads at once and tried to get as much Bermuda seed on the slops to keep it from washing. Had the dozer clean up some fence lines while he was out there

Built the temp pole myself and put it up once a couple of people told me they wanted $1200+ for one installed, cost me about $240 for everything, and the electric company had no complaints when they hooked it upi promise the final product was straight ha!

Drilled a water well finally down to the trinity, it's doing about 15-16 gpm's hopefully that'll be sufficient for us. If not I guess we will get a holding tank.

Next step is drilling piers and working on the slab, plumbing and termite spray. I'll update as we go. Picked me up a Mahindra 4550 4wd. Things been pretty handy and runs great so far!

All right. Following. Looks like a beautiful place. What size pump do you have for your well?

Wish I would have done the same. I have a 1.5 hp. Don't know the GPM out put yet but seems good for just a house. Was planning on putting in a pond the well tech said it would have to be a small one cause I could burn it out trying to fill it.

I believe it was only an extra $300 or so for the upgrade

That might be what I put on next time. Any idea on pump life. The guys that drilled my we'll said 7 to 10 years of regular usage. With 7 being about the norm if I get a irrigation system installed like I plan on doing. But I know they'll last longer. I have another one on a place I used to live that is over 15 years old.

Looks good. I am in the process of doing the same thing.

I'm sub'ing it out myself, a buddy of mine is doing the metal building. It'll be a weld up and getting most of the metal from JAG metals in weatherford.
