    Sub-MOA barrel on a budget?

I am doing a sort of budget AR build that I need some barrel suggestions on. I want to be able to stabilize heavier bullets out to 600+ yards, and be capable of sub-MOA. Total rifle weight is not a concern. I will not be hand loading, so this may be a pipe dream...

    18" 223 Wylde?
    Something else?
Can it be had for under $200?

This is on a 15 lower, and I'd prefer to stick with 223/556.

I' ve had great luck with sandersarmoryusa.com .

You should easily find a barrel for your budget.

I think that's a pipe dream unless you're very lucky. Sub moa at 600 with .223 gas gun is a tall order. Achieving that with a barrel under $200 is very difficult; but doing it with factory ammo is taking it to another level of difficulty. If you're going to try it I'd, at least, spend the money on a White Oak or Krieger match barrel in a heavy profile - $350+. Maybe even step up to a Proof barrel - $800+. Going to take some good shooting as well, in calm conditions. If you were handloading I'd be more optimistic.

Good luck. It can be done but I dunno about doing it on a "budget" build.

"Budget" and "sub-moa AR15" are contradictory terms. Ballistic Advantage guarantees their barrels to shoot moa with match ammo. They are reasonably priced in my opinion (under $200 if your Google-fu is any good).

Thanks for the advice so far.

It looks like I need to lower my expectations or raise the barrel budget.

If you want accuracy in AR barrels, try AR Performance (tech@ar15performance.com). You can get accuracy for less than $200.

I know you said stick with a 223/556 and there are some good suggestions above. Know where you could get a 6.5 Grendel barrel that would also do that for under $200

I haven't completely ruled that out yet either

I would take a look at Faxon barrels. Lower price high end barrels.

Get a barrel chambered in 6.5 Grendel

Another vote for AR15 Performance here. I'm running their 16" 223 Wylde on mine and really liking it so far. I'm not far from you if you would like to check it out.
