    Coolant for '16 F250 - 6.7

My "add coolant light" came on while driving tonight on my Powerstroke. I've searched the web and getting the right info seems impossible with what I'm seeing. There is a Walmart about 15 miles away and and autozone - what do you guys recommend (btw - I'm at 42k miles and had the oil changed about 6k miles ago so I'm a little concerned I might have a leak?)

    What does the GS say?

It is probably "add coolant additive". You can reset it through the dash controls.

Did you check your coolant level? I'm sure there's a specification in your owners manual

99% sure it is your coolant additive,,just reset the light..it comes on every 20 k miles or so.

If I remember right those trucks take a particular coolant. Not just anything from autozone. I would look into it before topping it off.

That's what I'm trying to figure out is what to add - I've "OK'd" it twice driving here over the last hour to get to my destination.

Do yourself a favor and buy the Ford stuff, you cannot mix all this new chemistry like the old days. Go look on the Ford forum. Mine was low as well around 40k it was the hose with these plastic connectors with a oring in the middle on my f150 and no one sells but ford. You may save $20 on coolant but it can cost alot more if you choose poorly and try to mix yourself.

If you are stuck just use distilled water you can buy at the grocery store till you get the right stuff.

You must use the correct coolant in these newer power strokes. I'll take a peek in the shop in the morning. I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head.

Yelp is a special orange stuff, you put regular coolant in it you will have to flush the the system.

Most likely it check coolant additive which is nothing more then a regular check. You can buy the ph strips on line.

You need motorcraft vc3b. That's the concentrate. Vc3dilb is the 50/50 premix.

Do not add tap water. Distilled is your friend for all makes.
