    I did it again

I had some guns that were just collecting dust...so I sold a couple and ordered a new longbow. Randy Madden will be building this one and I should have it around the first of deer season. You know it's bad when you start selling guns to buy bows!!

NO, that's not bad! That's good! You are finally getting things all straightened out and your priorities in the proper order!!!

I sold a couple of guns to fund the purchase of both of my Grizzly recurves. Wasn't using the guns but I'm darn sure using the bows. Daily.

I see it as a win brother.

Haha!! Yeah I probably need to part with a few more. When I hunt with a gun I end up using guns that were passed on to me from family. I've picked up quite a few over the years that don't have any sentimental value, and just sit in the safe. I shoot a bow every day, and have guns I haven't shot in years. So it makes sense!!

I have a couple guns I don't shoot but I keep for sentimental reasons. The rest though I deal out death with on a regular basis. I thinned that herd a couple years ago when I realized that when I die my wife would sell them for much less than their real value.[emoji54]

Excellent food for thought - think I'll go open the gun cabinet right now - hmmm

As long as they did not hold any real value to you, then it's re-investing.

I got rid of just about all of the guns that aren't "family" guns. Only a few of the family guns ever get used, but I have 9 grand kids that I hope to spread them around to. I sold several bows that I wasn't using recently and then bought a dual shelf Thunderbird so the heir that gets it can shoot whether they shoot left or right.

That's probably what I'll do eventually. I bought guns all my life when I had a little extra cash. Then I had a Great Uncle pass and he left me several, then my Dad passed and I got several of his, and now one of my friends is probably about to lose his battle with cancer and he recently gave me several more. I plan to keep those guns that I've inherited forever, and when I hunt I use one of my Dad's normally. All these that I've bought just seem to take up space now.

I agree. I had guns I hadn't shot in years as well. I actually sold a couole to fund a nicer shotgun. I'll always keep a .22 rifle, a deer rifle and some PDWs around but I'm no longer interested in going to the range and wasting ammo. I have one left I'm on the fence on. But it's a helluva shooter and I take it out now and then when I'm after a big pig or a freezing hunt in Missouri.

I'm the same way about shooting. I shoot the guns I carry at work a lot but other than that I spend the days shooting arrows now!!

Here's a little sneak peak of the wood combo.

And I have a rack off a small buck that my dad killed years ago that has been hanging on his back porch for years. I'm gonna send it to Randy and have the tip overlays made from it.
