We've pretty much set our sights on Lake Tahoe for our getaway trip mid August. Any must do's that the green screen would recommend? Would like to try some fishing, any good guides on the lake? Also if you have any recommendations on lodging we haven't booked yet but plan to very soon. Happy Father's Day!

You may be dead set on Tahoe, but if things change I would highly recommend going to California and visit Yosemite and Sequoia NP..... just got back from a there and they are most incredible views I've ever seen. Pictures don't do justice and is a must for anyone in their lifetime.
Temps were 50s at night and low to mid 80s during the day, but dry so it's very pleasant.Comment

We will be there in two weeks. We plan on taking the kids up the gondola since they have never done that before. Will probably take the guided boat tour again. Also will probably hike down to see the castle that was shipped there and built (can't remember the name of it, it's on the west side of the lake). Ive never fished there before, so I don't know about that. Mostly we will just enjoy the cooler weather! Heck, it snowed there a couple of weeks agoComment

I've stayed at Ceasers as well as rental cabins. The boat tour on the lake is nice and there are some good golf courses. It's been many years since I've been but one of my favorite vacation spots, winter and summer.Comment

It depends on what side of the lake you are staying. When I lived in Reno I could go over Mt. Rose and be at the Lake in minutes but Emerald Bay was a long haul. I would check out Squaw Valley for summer time fun. You take the gondola up to mid-mountain and you can hike, swim and ice skate. They also have a nice bar you can overlook the lake and mountain. If you go to Truckee, CA you can go to Mountain Hardware and Sports and they can fix you up with a trout fishing guide. There is some good river trout fishing in the area. There is also river rafting in the area if there is enough water. There is plenty to do in the area it is really going to depend on your interests. Be sure to bring a fleece or light jacket. If you stay in Lake Tahoe you will need it in the evenings.Comment
