    Home security systems

Who does the best and most affordable home security systems and monitoring?

    #2
my boxer,,,,, he works with or without electricity, phone lines are never to full to hear his call..... and i never forget to arm him,,, he is always armed, never have to wait for repair man,,,, and when he sounds the alarm in my shop he sets the yard alarms off which set the house alarm off, and i respond way faster than any alarm company could call the pd and send a car out,
seriously the very best alarm system you will ever have is a good dog,,,, 30 years as an leo,,, i saw exactly 2 burglaries were a dog was on duty,,, one could not bark, but the suspect left a good blood trail, the other just did not bark,, suspect was still in the bed of a truck in at the auto shop when we got there the next day..........

If you need a home security system you need to move.

Ignorance is bliss huh? Don't think it can't happen where you live. I've been living in this area all my life, and the more people we get out here, the more crime we get. It gets worse every day.

Deception and bait. Simply safe for giggles. A very loud siren on the inside of the house causes a psychological effect putting them in a rush.

A small floor safe with 200lbs of weights, some locked Gun cases with bricks in them, fake jewelry, old iPads, stuff like that will keep them busy. They are usually in an extreme hurry.

you have it figured out, hide your jewelry in the pantry, 30 years as a LEO and only 1 burglary where food was taken and that was meat from a freezer.

The deception is only limited by the imagination but darn effective. Some items like TV's are acceptable risk to me, whatever keeps them moving with hands full of my not so good stuff.

This, and it doesn't have to be a huge dog as long as it can wake you up.

We used to have an alarm system, and quit frankly we rarely used it. You become complacent and after a while you stop arming it at night. My mini-Schnauzer alerts me BEFORE a window is broken and before a door is opened giving me an upper hand. Then a 1k lumen flashlight and a 9mm take care of whoever has decided to stay.

I think SimplySafe is a great product and it is 15 a month to monitor with basic service and no contract.

Yep when our contract is up in July we are done with them. Our 80lb Boxer does the job pretty well.

Been telling people this for years. 23 years LE, only seen one burglary with dogs on premises. Little dogs sleeping in bed with homeowners and bedroom door closed. Suspect entered unlocked door and took a purse from the kitchen.

I've always had inside dogs, and never had an alarm system. Never had a burglary either.
