    Benelli SBE 3 shotgun

    Hey TBH,

I recently bought the new Benelli SBE 3 shotgun. It's a really sweet gun so far. I'm not sure if anyone else had a problem removing the cocking lever on the bolt assembly in order to assemble or strip the gun, but I did.
I put up a YouTube video on how I got around that. Here it is:

    Thanks!

    Thanks!
Bought one last of January. Had an issue with it shooting a foot high at 35 yrds. Sent it back to benelli. They said they didn't do anything , because it was in specifications. Been at least a couple more reported on shotgunworld. They did something, because it is shooting lower now. If anyone buys one and has issues with their shooting definitely do some pattern work.

Good to know! I still need to pattern the gun.
I shot a round of sporting clays the 2nd day I had it. I shot a normal score for me (82/100) so it seemed to be shooting ok. I cycled ~125 rounds (2-3/4", 1oz, 1200fps) without any problems.... without having fired any heavy loads first to break it in.

Shot another 125 rounds through it today. I patterned it and it is shooting high, with a full choke at 20yrds, center spread was several inches (maybe about 8") from the aim point. The trouble is, that i shot sporting clays after that and shot a 92/100.. my highest score to date. So, it's working well with my clays shooting, i just need to make sure I aim lower when I'm turkey hunting it seems.

I'll do a detailed review video of the SBE 3 soon. Anything in particular that people want to see or want me to cover?

If you are hitting that good ,all is good. With mine I was trying to shoot a crippled duck on the water about 35 yards or so. He was close to the opposite bank. I always aim low when shooting on the water to get the ricochet effect too. When I shot at the duck ,we couldn't even see where the shot went it was shooting so high. Shot at him 3 or 4 times and never killed him. That's when I went & patterned it. I had shot 6 or 7 birds with the gun already over 2 days & was having a lot of cripples too. I knew why after the pattern board.
Good Luck with the gun. They are a great balanced & smooth feeling gun. Much more so, than the previous SBE's IMO.

I haven't been to their web sight yet. How is the SBE III different from the SBE II?

The differences between the SBE 2 and 3 are mostly cosmetic/ergonomic. The significant performance improvement are in the bolt assembly, an extra spring that ensures that the bolt closes (solves the "benelli click") if you check to see if there is a shell in the chamber. It's suppose to have a little better recoil reduction as well. I do like the ergonomic changes though. They are significant to me, especially the foregrip. I'll see if I can put a video together doing a side by side comparison and evaluation of performance.

Where do you shoot bentman? I used to shoot tournaments every weekend till I bought my property. Slowed down to just fun shooting now. Saves a lot of $$$. I shoot at GHGC.

A coworker had the exact same issue on it. He sold it in favor of a sbe2

I shot 97% with mine on a sporting clays event so if it shoots high, maybe I was shooting low before

I mostly shoot at American Shooting Center (Houston). I do occasionally get an invite to Westside Sporting Grounds or will go to HotWells to shoot skeet.
