    L.W. Seecamp .32

Very curious about these guns but there's not a dealer anywhere close to me so that I can check one out.

Do you own one or know anyone that does?
What can you tell me about them?

    Thanks in advance.

Beretta Tomcat safer bet in .32acp...Seecamp was state of art for a while. Win .32 silvertip recommended ammo.
That size pistol now will produce a .45 xds.
        Neat pistol though for collecting...imho.

The early seecamps have a following...I don't know much about the newer ones.

I've got one. Very high quality piece. DAO, no sights. It's a close in, last resort, got-off-of-me weapon. In other words, it's a loud knife. Except for the grips, it's all stainless steel, so it's a bit heavy. Even someone with small hands can only get about 1.5 fingers around the grip. It's small enough that if you own one, you don't really have any excuse not to be unarmed. The no longer made version in .25 ACP, the .32 ACP, and the .380 ACP versions are all the same size. The .32 ACP version isn't a lot of fun to shoot, but I can't imagine shooting one chambered in .380 ACP. You should check out the Seecamp website. Lots of great info there including the recommended ammo. Frankly, all I've ever shot out of mine is Winchester Silvertips.

Here's a personal story about the Seecamp...

I used to be the charge nurse at a hospital emergency room. One evening, a bunch of us were sitting around chewing the fat when one of the doctors started talking about the Seecamp and really ragging on it. How it was a poor choice to carry, how it was chambered in a weak caliber, etc. One of the EMTs said (koudly): "Hey Dave, don't you carry a Seecamp?" When I confirmed that I did, the doctor started telling me what a stupid choice in weapons that was, and then said: "Even with my medical skills, I don't know if I could help you after whoever you shot that peashooter at decided to beat the crap out of you."

I said that if I ever had to use the piece, my intent was to shove it up the bad guy's nose, shake hands with his brain stem, and then empty the piece into his head. The only reason I would need the doctor's help would be to 1) remove my hand from what was left of my victim's head, and 2) to testify in court that he was once a human. I felt that despite the doctor's medical abilities, he should be able to handle those two tasks. 2 guesses on what topic was banned for discussion in the ER? Want to guess who got free drinks for a long while following that incident?

            Regards,

            Dave
