To You Guys who have more bows than sense.

I need some help from you guys with many different bows. I hope one of you can help me. I have been looking at a Great Northern "Super Ghost Recurve". I have never actually seen one, only pictures. The particular one I am looking at is a 50's style green glass bow. I just looks really nice. I have read great reviews on other sites for this bow as well as their Ghost Recurve.

Does anyone in a reasonable distance from DFW have one? I am dying to look at one up close. I spoke with Jerry at Great Northern and they don't have a test drive program like Black Widow or Tomahawk does. He says his are all sold as soon as he can make them. I just don't want to buy a pig in a poke. I feel sure it is a good bow but have to be sure. Does anyone in Texas have one?

    Thanks.

If it is green, it must be good. Just buy it!

SwampRabbit, I have seen pictures of your green Black Widow on this site. That sir, is a beautiful bow.

There has got to be some Southern Boys on this site who have Yankee Bows.

While its usually Better to test drive a Bow If you like '50's style recurves Great Northern's reputation as a superior Builder should mean your going to get a Quality Bow

If you do test one out, let the rest of us know. Only green glass bow I had was a McBroom and it was also a 50's style recurve. Nice shooting bow.

I know a guy in central Arkansas that has either a ghost or super ghost, don't know which.
The quality of the bow will be superb, but whether it fits you is another question. You can only tell that after shooting one for a while. I understand that they are close to a St Charles Thunderbird, which you can get also.

I believe Mr. St.Charles did actually design the original Ghost.

I'll vouch for Tim not having any sense! [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]

I think that the title should read "For You Guys That Have Enough Sense to Own Many Bows" instead of implying that we have little sense.

My answer is that if you had any sense, you would be looking at Blacktails or Robertsons for a new bow, or a Whippenstick Phoenix for a used bow. I just happen to know a man with a 47# Phoenix for sale. And he just dropped the price another $50. I already have two or I would buy it.

60 Deluxe, I was not implying that you had little sense. If you were offended, I regret that as it was not my intent. I do, however, plead guilty to having more bows than sense. Perhaps that is why I am not familiar with the Blacktails. I am well acquainted with Robertsons and they are a great bow but not what I am looking for at present. Another poster just sent me some good pictures of his Super Ghost and is a beautiful bow. Thanks for your advice though.

Each to his own. I was rattling your chain. You obviously have some sense if you have a Robertson. http://www.blacktailbows.com/ but if you are not familiar with Blacktail bows here is a link. It is free to look. Some of the best looking and shooting bows being made today. Oh yeah, they are a little expensive too. I will have to look again at the Super Ghost. It seems like I saw a used one a couple of days ago and kind of liked it. I know nothing about them.
