    UTV from ATV

Been wanting to go to a Ranger from my ATV for a couple years now. I don't think I'd keep the Honda ATV cause I don't think it would get much use.

My question is who has changed and then missed having their ATV?

Just bought a Ranger last year and I can tell you I don't miss the ATV at all. I like having a windshield when it's cold and rainy and being able to carry all my stuff to and from the blind without strapping or things falling off the ATV. If you set it up right you will be glad you made the switch.

Depends on your roads. We have a lot of red clay roads on our lease, and when it's really wet those UTV's are so big it's about like driving a jeep. Ruts the roads up bad and they struggle a little, where a 4 wheeler just cruises right through. So I have one of each. But if it's not real wet the UTV's are much nicer and makes it a lot easier to haul stuff, extra passengers, etc.

I had a Ranger and a Polaris four wheeler. Besides using the four wheeler a few times to save walking a long pipeline R. O. W., it mostly sat in the shop. About the third time I had to jump it off in order to move it out of my way, I sold it. Still have the Ranger......and a BBB......and a golf cart.

I have both, utv for Texas and atv for Colorado. The only reason I keep the atv is where we hunt here it is rough and I mean really rough and the atv is much more nimble getting around and through the rocks. But other wise it would be utv for sure.

Ranger all the way. My four wheeler took a dump and I don't think it'll be fixed for a long while.

Been having the same problem, which to go with.

Anyone care to chime in on the debate of old 4x4 truck vs UTV?

I hunt in Cherokee, Tx and the road/trails are not that bad at all.

I bought a new 2014 yamaha grizzly and finally sold it first of the month with 50 hrs and 205 miles.

Bought a 2017 Can-Am Defender which know has 17 hrs and 60 miles.

For what we do the UTV is better for us.

Atv was much easier to haul. But my Ranger gets so much more work done.

Same boat, sorta. I bought a Ranger this spring and I far prefer it at the lease. No more riding double with the wife on ATV. Carries more. Love the windshield when it's wet or really cold. Smoother ride on the bumpy roads. It was nice being able to throw ATV in truck and go instead of a trailer, but hauling a trailer frees up the truck bed to carry more crap too. However, I do go on a couple ATV outtings with the boys during the boys during the spring/summer. Next weekend will be the first. Im taking the Ranger, but I didnt sell my ATV yet just in case it cant keep up/go through all the trails. I dont think that will be an issue, but it's the only reason I havent sold my ATV yet. If I have no problems on the trails we run next weekend, it will be up for sale (and get wife off my back...."Why do you need to keep it for 2 weekends a year?????")

I think my wife would think that I don't need an ATV and a Ranger too. However, it is more just to cut down on keeping up the ATV. My son's ATV doesn't get used much since he went off to college. I find myself starting it up each time I go to the lease just to keep it from having issues. Thinking if I have a Range then my ATV gets sold and my nephew gets my son's.

The discussion of roads was useful. But still thinking once I get a Ranger my Honda gets sold.

Went through same dilemma bout a year ago. Sold both ATV's and bought a Ranger XP 900. Haven't looked back. Don't regret it a smigin'.
