What tips do you use? Do you use a field point or blunt?

What weights are they? I've seen 100 & 125 grain heads?

Like fly wise, I foot my arrows to keep inserts from "splitting" arrows on a solid front on hit. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Without footing, when your arrow hits a stump the head and insert can jam up into the shaft and cause it to split. First time I went stumping I ruined arrows on the first two shots. That was before I learned I should have used footed shafts. Do you guys use those metal collars like you can buy at Three Rivers? I have also heard some people use a short piece of aluminum arrow shaft - is there another way to foot a carbon arrow?

We always shot prickly pear when "stumping". I've used Judo points and rubber blunts.

I use my DIY small game head. I only shoot at rotted out stumps or small branches, pine cones, etc.

I use judo points. I shoot 150 grain heads so I had to use a 125 judo and 3 washers to get to 140 grains. I can't tell the difference between 140 and 150 when stumping

With my inserts I can't shoot 100 grain heads so for now I will use a Judo as well as the washer style with a 100 grain field point.

Jerp, all I ever use is short pieces (2" or less) of old aluminum shafts. 2117 fit the GT 35/55 woodgrain carbon shafts real snug. I've used 2216 aluminum as well, they're just not quite as snug. Another benefit, for example, is the 2216's are 12.0 grains per inch, so as a result, I also get 24 grains up front with a 2" piece. See if I have a close up pic. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Do you have to glue them on?
