*sigh* I really really need a lighted backstop or shooting lane.

Is it strange that I look forward to the full moon so I can shoot at night? When all the guests are gone and dinner is done and I'm relaxing with a cup of coffee before bed I get the urge to step outside and into my shooting area. If this keeps up I might have to find a way to run some power out there and get some lights set up.

I'm not a trad guy but saw your other inconsistent thread...bet this when you shoot the best.

Haven't been able to pull for a while due to rotator but always opened up when I felt I needed to practice instead of when I wanted to shoot. Keep it fun amigo.

I have one of the stand alone flashlights with rechargeable batteries I stand in front of the target.

Just stick an illuminated nock in the target and shoot one arrow at a time.

All you really need to see is the target. Glow stick, flashlight, lamp anything will work. Just make sure you got a big backstop lol

I've done a few things over the past couple years. Usually I just try to sneak out between the time I get home and when dinner is ready for 10 or so minutes of shooting.

But, when that is not possible (driving home in the dark) I do setup a flood light on an extension cord. A cheap $10 yellow one from Walmart that sits on the ground does the job nicely.

Other times, I just use a bow mounted light and practice like I am shooting at hogs or something.

At Ben's we've put up those little glow stick bracelets and shot at them. I find it fun, but I don't normally practice that way.

Ha! A glow stick, now why didn't I think of that. Heck I've got boxes of those things that have expired at work. Time to put them to use.

Oh and Bisch I don't think the neighbors would like that.

You drink coffee before you go to bed?

I was just gonna say the same thing.

I have a hard enough time going to sleep as it is much less being all jacked up on coffee.

Put a little blackberry brandy in it and you'll sleep just fine.

Walmart has some landscape solar led lights

2 of them should illuminate the target more than enough

Well... not to get too deep into it but I was an alcoholic for 25+ years and couldn't sleep at all unless I was flat blasted and my mind was too gone to think. Stopped all that on June 16 of this year. Now when I go to bed my mind will search for something to occupy itself and all the years of drinking makes that a cloudy and wandering issue, I hope that goes away with time. The coffee before bed sharpens things in my nugget so I can focus on something to tire the mind. Here lately it's been what I can do to improve my archery. LOL the last few nights have been "Oh! I need to focus on back tent......" ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Or something similar.

I've always been glad I built a shed roof off my welding shop as it gives me almost 25 yards of lighted shooting at night and shaded shooting in the day.

I've let my darling wife know that we're either building an indoor range or a lighted outdoor one once we get into our forever home.
