Does anyone hog hunt out there? How good is the hog population? Is it worth my time?

you have to respect a man that's quick and to the point. does it get crowded out there for pig hunting?

Not that I know of. It's archery only with a $48 TPWD APH. Don't forget your hunter orange.

you just have to put in your scouting time and it is growed up in some areas but good luck, I hunt out there by buck creek. and I also hunt in the bird refuge on the north west side of the lake. Good luck

Jeez what public land around DFW don't you hunt?

I only hunt there in Jan. when all the deer hunting is over. I only hunt like 5 diffrent locations,
LBJ - Deer, Turkey, Waterfowl
Vine - Deer, Hogs
Lewisville Lake - WaterFowl
Pat Mayse WMA - Turkey, Deer
Lake Ray Roberts - Hogs, WaterFowl

Gotta keep your options open public hunting is very tuff and I am gonna make every oppurtunity avaliable to me.

I drove by Ray Roberts and scouted around. I could not find any designated parking places. Any suggestions?

WHAT?! you mean you don't hunt tawakoni WMA, cooper WMA, caddo national grasslands, lavon or benbrook ACE land good huntin to ya strike.

I have hunted cooper 1 time for hogs and I am thinking of trying out fannin next year for bow only I hear from david aka froggy there is plenty of hogs up there. Well good luck for the rut I will be out at LBJ most likely might do some duck hunting tommorow afternoon.

Hog Season at Ray Bob is Jan 19 - Aug 31. I guess they extended it this year. Seems like it's been Jan - March in past years.

hard to find in daylight but you got to step on em at night. Thay arent scared of lights, noise or you.

Has anyone hunted up there recently? I just got started, and will be camping up there during spring break. Thought I would try to hunt a bit, but its a big area and wondered if anyone had any recommendations to narrow the search down. From what I've found online, there aren't many people hunting hogs up there?
