First of all, I would like to thank all of the TBHers for your help. A short while ago I was asking your opinions for a ram hunt for my boy, and alot of you pointed me towards KJO.
Here's the short of it (I'll try). My son, Caleb, who's 11yo really wanted to go on an exotic ram hunt. He was looking at a Spanish goat. Well after we, my son and I, struck a deal, (He had to save 1/2 of the cost of the hunt, and o yea he needed a new bow set-up as well, but I took care of that), I started searching the forums for day leases. After speaking with Keith Johns, I was sold.
So, last Thursday, we headed to KJO. I could not have more impressed with Keith. He really knows how to make the kids feel comfortable and has their interest in mind. Well after the first evening hunt, and on the way back to the cabin, we spotted a nice dall ram. Well that quickly changed my boys target. He wanted that ram. After a day and a half of setting in a blind and stalking (we saw a few hogs and alot of does, both axis and whitetail), he finally got his opportunity. His shot was true, and even though he passed on a larger ram, he held out for the one he really wanted. The ram didn't go 40 yards, and it was a quick tracking job.
Again, I want to thank the TBH family and KJO for a great experience. I would highly recommend KJO to anyone for any hunt. We will be back soon!!!
