The Bush family has lost its shine to me sadly

I still supported GW Bush when he left our party in shambles due to his lack of spine for taking on liberals and rolling over to the big spenders. I supported his dad after he still lied to everyone about no new taxes and was soft on certain issues.
I even supported Jeb early on in his presidential run until he opened his mouth and further revealed his liberal stance on many issues including immigration.

Now seeing how the family is acting after Jeb's horrible showing and seeing how he pledged to support the nominee until it wasn't what who he wanted. Now listening to him say he isn't voting for the GOP candidate. Now you even have Bob Dole criticizing him for not going to the convention saying he even went after being defeated by his dad.

What was even lower still was GH Bush's book ripping Cheney and Rumsfield.

The Bush family to me has really lost its class. They have shown what they really care about... themselves.

By staying home this week you have proven something many suspected.

    It's really sad and dissapointing.

Jeb Bush is a complete joke! Got smoked in the GOP race and his opinions mean absolutely nothing.

only things I disliked when he was in office was the fact he got us in another war, the stock market almost crashed, the price of gasoline and diesel went from around a dollar to over four dollars, he gave the banks ( and just abt all other big businesses big bucks) but other than that I guess I liked him cause I voted for him TWICE.

The collective Bushes lost their shine many years ago to me. RINOS is the word that comes to mind. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm tired of holding my nose to vote, so I will sit this one out. Yeah, I know, " it's a vote for Clinton ". Not really.

I agree with you. The primary showed that those of us who vote republican did not want the establishment pick.

Time to join the Trump train, unless you want the train wreck that is Hilary.

Trump is so far beneath the Bush family in regards to class and decorum, I really don't have a problem with their actions.

I would say that a non vote is a vote for Hillary and the consequences of her selections to the Supreme Court really, really concern me. I can handle 4 -8 years of anyone but the damage she will do in her nominations will last 20-40 years. That will drastically change the course of the US forever.

Ever noticed how G H and Bill Clinton became buds? And, now G W and Obama are loved dovey even after Obama blames everything on him?

Jeb? Always struck me as mama's little one that she had to protect.

I never cared for the old man when he did not finish the job in desert storm 1. Especially letting others liberate Kuwait after the Americans did the butt kicking.

Not voting will have consequences just like voting for Hillary. Hillary Supreme Court justices will end the US as we know it.

LOL.......glad folks are realizing that we sold the country down the river even before Bush, Sr. They are all playing with the same deck of cards and WE the PEOPLE are the poker chips/peons/serfs. Yep, true colors of truly showing with LOT's of political types if you just stop looking at the surface non-sense.

Odd, how folks keep parroting "not voting is a VOTE for Hilliary!" They either don't realize we are voting in TEXAS or just don't understand how the presidential electorate process works. For the 10th time....if someone wants their vote to matter in this election PLEASE move to Florida/Pennyslvania or Ohio. Those are the battleground states for who will sit in the Whitehouse....period! ....sorry, but TEXAS is NOT a battleground state. I guess we can blame the lack of patriotism on eachother if we don't collectively change our addresses' to save our country from either of these nitwits........lol! This subject just makes me go hum..... Also I AM AN AMERICAN and have a choice....(unlike some nations).........and my choice is NOT to vote for either of these disasters that will be at the helm of OUR nation!

If you are not voting for Trump on principle fair enough. This isn't what this is about.

1.) GW brought class to the office and that was one of his big themes. Well here you have a situation where a presidents brother ran and pledged to support the nominee. In fact he ridiculed Trump for not agreeing early on. Yet after his brother gets beat who he endorsed he decides to sit it out. How spoiled and sorry of a loser does that appear to be.

2.) Now you may say GW is doing it out of principle like his brother Jeb is supposedly. But let's consider this: don't you think many people showed up for his presidential conventions even though they didn't support him? Just like Bob Dole made the point he showed up for GH Bush's convention after he got beat by him. It's something you just do if you respect the position.

3.). For the Cruz supporters: GW actually made very bad remarks about Ted very early on in the primary at a speech of big money guys calling him a jerk and saying nobody can stand him. Now this is how a president talks about a guy who he and his wife met helping you get elected.

4.) Even Cruz and top Texas officials have come out for the party as is required or expected. Abbot was going to attend the convention. Yet the entire Bush family decides to sit this one out.

5.) In Texas if you want to complain about the border don't blame Obama. Bush was governor then Perry was governor for the longest tenure in history. Perry had Bush's ear from the whitehouse for 8 years! The only time he threw a fit was when he met Obama on the runway when Perry was positioning to run for President. The Bush family are no different and I mean there is zero difference when it comes to immigration policies.

6.) Why did the Bush administration allow all of the Saudi people return home immediately after 9/11? Why do we find out over a decade later that there was purposely hidden information about Saudi ties? I have never understood the whole Bush link to the Saudi royals but it just seems highly suspect.

7.) Lastly there will be many party loyalists at the convention that do not support Trump but support the party. The Bush family let all those people down and it's the same people who have supported them.

This election cycle has been eye opening. If the Bush family thinks they are going sit this one out and then be welcomed with fan fare later for their future political endeavors with others in their family I think they may have miscalculated. Even the Texas political establishment has taken notice.

Nobody, from whatever side of the aisle they are on, can go into the office of the POTUS and do everything they campaign on. It is all about negotiations and having strong enough leadership to bring both sides toward the middle.
If you want the POTUS to he able to do whatever they want, well... that's called a Dictatorship and not a Democracy.
I don't expect the person I vote for to get everything done they say they will because that is not realistic.

Truth! That is why this whole OBAMA term has been soooooo interesting/confusing/mind-boggling, etc. NO president can do such things without the help of congress...................BOTH sides! The fix is in but folks still picking R's, D's and even L's now. Term limits will fix at least half of our problems but WE don't have political will to even DEMAND that simple change!
