26" Discada with stand build along

Purchased some 26" disc blades. They are 1/4" thick and weigh about 40-45lbs. Welded up the centers and got ready to add an 1 1/2" flat bar lip to them. After using a flap disc wheel on my grinder and not being extremely happy with the results, I decided to have them sandblasted once I had the lip and handles welded on.

Next I used some 1/8" sheet iron cut it in 8"x20" pieces and bent them into 90 degree ells. Then welded the two together and trimmed them so they fit the discada like a glove as well as the propane insert.

Lastly I used some 3/16" diamond plate for the base of the burner, then cut a piece of 2" tubing 28" tall to use for the upright. Leveled it on the bottom of the base, as well as the bottom of the burner. Slapped a little high temp paint on and oiled the discadas and wrapped them in plastic to keep the dust down while transporting them to the new owner.

That's awesome! I got a an old disc the other day and need to weld the hole up and clean it up. The stand is awesome and sure would make it easier to cook on.

The owner of them requested they be taller so that he didn't have to bend over to cook on them

Exactly what I was thinking too. I've cooked on one before and had to either hunch over or sit down on a stool to cook with it sitting on normal height burner.

I have seen them mentioned before, but I think the biggest disc they offer is a 24". I honestly do not do any metal work for cash. 99% of the metalwork I do is bartered for hunting.

Masters75- Your SN is accurate. You are a metal master craftsman! If don't mind, would you share the supplier of the 26" discs. I am looking to make one for hunting camp.

Absolutely. I got them at tractor city in floresville. They run $81 a piece but are 1/4" thick made in USA blades
