What weight bow do you shoot for 3D

For many years I've shot my 55 lb hunting bow. I'm in the process of setting up a 49lb bow that will be my hunting bow, as well as my 3D bow. I'm a firm believer in shooting the same bow for hunting and 3D.

I shoot 50 lbs for my 3D. I am currently deer hunting with 60 lbs but all other hunting is done with my 50 lb bows.

Mine weighs in at about 3.5 lbs with the quiver and arrows....

I switched up my draw weight this year to 48lbs and using target arrows. I do not shoot off the shelf either. Shot a 254 last weekend with a 1976 Bear Victor takedown recurve. Would have been 264 if that darn tree did not get in front of my arrow.

But when I am not being a smart*** the answer is #48... the same I use for hunting.

I understand the rationale for shooting the same bow for both, but about this time last year I built some light arrows (lighter than I prefer to hunt with) for my 50# longbow, specifically for shooting 3d. I then switch to my 55#recurve for hunting. I have been pleasantly surprised how easy going back and forth has been. Even though arrow trajectory and grip feel is fairly different it only takes about 20 minutes on the range for me to make the mental adjustments.

I hunt with bows From the low to mid 50's but I'm setting up a 40 pound Recurve bow this year for 3D as I'm a tad Sore after 60 to 80 Arrows. for longbows i'll be shooting a 48# Hill.

I only have hunting bows that I also shoot 3D with. All of mine are right at 50# at my draw length.
