    3 Baker ranch?

I hunted the baker ranch years ago and had a good time. I was thinking about going on the spring exotic hunt. Has anyone been?

It's been a while but I have been in the spring. It was a very tough hunt due to how much rain/how green everything was. I missed an axis doe so it's not impossible. It's always fun to watch the turkey strutting around camp and it's one of the prettiest ranches when it's had plenty of rain. That being said, I would wait for the summer hunt, hope it's hot and dry then sitting over a waterhole/tank will up your success rate.

I've been out there every May for the last 6 years. Hunting is tough but you can get better at it. Key for me is figure out where they are (not same places every year) and sneak in on them spot, stalk, and shoot. Or set up and wait on them to pass by. Click image for larger version

Took me 3 years to shoot that buck.

This one was May 2015. I've had opportunities every year and most people do. They are hard suckers to kill and the quartering away shot is best. This doe went about 40 yards.
