    Tacoma 4x4 or chevy 4x4

I'm looking into getting a 2016 Tacoma. Never had anything but a full size chevy. What do you guys think about the tacoma? I like how they are small and bad *** 4x4s . Just don't know how much ill miss a full size truck.

    Tough call.
Got an 06 Tacoma & wouldn't trade it for a tank!
But, the extra room in a full size is nice when you need it.

Life is too short to drive a small pickup.

Does the Tacoma still have a plastic bed? My 09 4 door Tacoma is great, but plastic bed limits hold down hooks, and how much weight you can put back there. I love my Tacoma but during spring mulch season I miss my full size Chevy. I have the V6 and only get 21 mpg max on the highway.

I agree, but a Ford F150/250/350 would be good.

In for this. Thinking smaller for quick runs to the deer woods and running around town. One thing I have noticed new or used they are PROUD of them!!! Unless you want ext cab or 100k plus miles theres not much difference new vs. used.

I had a Tacoma in high school. the pro's were it was light, nimble, had a good amount of power for a small V-6 and with the 5 speed manual it was getting 20 mpg with 31" street tires and 18 mpg highway with 32" tires. cons were it was small. Great truck howerver
this was back when a full size gas V-8 truck in 4x4 would have gotten you 14 mpg or so highway. I had the chance to get a ext. cab Z71 (before crew cabs were invented in a half ton platform) and it was like $3k more

fast forward to today.....my new Z71 tows more, is more roomy, fully capable off road thanks to electronic lockers and gets 18.5 mpg highway with 33" all terrain tires.

I cannot see the reason to spend the money on a Toyota Tacoma when for about the same price you can get a full size 4x4 for just about the same money. you get less truck for the same amount of money and a mile or two per gallon more

Up to you. I prefer a smaller truck for several reasons.

If you can go small buy Tacoma. If you need larger go Tundra. No one knows except you what you haul around or tow.

My son has 2012 4dr 4x4 long bed!! It is really sharp 3" lift nice tires!! You will get use to the space. I went from 3/4 ton long bed to 5'-8" bed on my GMC don't miss the room much.

I'd take a Tacoma over that Chevy any day. The 4 door tacos aren't that bad. My dad has one and it had about just as much room as my old Chevy extended cab had. I've got a tundra crew max now
