Cull or not to Cull? Would you call this a cull or trophy?

    Quick Background -

The pictures are of a buck in question - one says he is a cull, older deer and dwindling horn/body while the other says that is a trophy deer that is a non-typical and younger deer.

What say you? Kill as cull? Kill as trophy? Hang on and give him a pass?

Also, as an aside, we have an incentive program that if you can take a cull that is less than 8 points and older than 3.5 (so a 4.5 yr old 7 point or such) then you get a $100 rebate on the lease.

Hard to tell based on the pictures but he has too much going on to be a cull in my book. He looks younger in the bottom picture so I would give him the pass and hope that he improves even more. Cool buck!

Why would you cull? Doesn't appear to be a cull to me...

I would say 4.5 and would let him walk if you have the means. he could be a stud in 2-3 years

Absolutely no reason to kill that deer as a cull... Reasons not to kill:
                    1. Has a drop tine
                    2. Has a kicker
                    3. NOT mature
                    4. He is the biggest deer in that picture and I don't know your deer.

                      Not a Cull IMO.

How many acres is the lease and where is he located within the lease? Edge or center? Plan being on the lease in the future? If I was on the lease, good amount of acreage, this would be a buck that I could watch for another 1-2 yrs. If he is on the edge of the property, heavily hunted area I would be tempted to take him. I'm seeing a 4.5 yr old.

Could turn into a very unique deer in a year or two!

I would pass for at least another year.

If that's a cull on your place, I REALLY want to join your lease.
