First Trad Elk Hunt

Dad and I are headed to New Mexico on Saturday to start chasing some bugling Bulls (I hope). Going to be my first Trad hunt on western game. Trying to get all my equipment ready and shoot a lot. Any tips on getting a shaving edge on broadheads. Mine are sharp but not as sharp as I would like.

Man that sounds like a blast - good luck! What type of broadheads are you trying to get sharp?

I have had luck getting the stingers razor sharp using the Smith sharpening system (or Lanksy, etc.) I remove the blade and then treat it like any other knife.

Now what I can't get razor sharp using the same method is the Zwickey's. However I just hit those with a file and they seem to be pretty gosh darn wicked in drawing blood if you were to run a finger across it.
