ATVs for Dummies - Need Some Help on Selecting One

My folks just got 50+acres (90% wooded with trails) in East Texas. Looking for something to get around the property more easily (some steep grades) aside from my truck. I'm looking at used ATVs but would like to stay under $2000. Any thoughts on what I should be looking for?

Thanks in advance. Never owned an ATV before.

Get the biggest engine, 4 wd, and independent suspension. I have Polaris but I think any of them are good.

Honestly, if you are going to hunt there, an ATV will keep all the deer on high alert on acreage that small. I have 217 acres and I use a golf cart for almost all my travels. They seem not to mind a tractor too much but I limit my mowing of trails and such to once a year in July.
