    Cube Steak Recipes

What are your favorite ways to cook venison cube steaks? I am already on top of the chicken frying. I am looking for some healthier options.

Take the frying a step farther and make jaeger schnitzel (fried venison with bacon-mushroom gravy on it). This is a good one (as are all the recipes on there)

I like lightly brown the cube steak place into a dutch oven with some sautéed mushrooms and onions. Then add some Lipton onion soup, water. and a little red wine. Simmer until tender.

I don't really have a recipe as I just throw this together and it changes a bit from time to time.

Brown the seasoned venison in whole pieces in olive oil with garlic and onion on high heat RARE, back strap or steaks cut from the rear quarter. Deglaze the pan to break up all the good stuff and add a can of cream of chicken and cream of mushroom. Stir in with some soy sauce and bring it to a simmer while stirring.

I like to slice and add the venison back in just before serving. Don't overcook or slow cook this meal like you would with beef or chicken. I won't get more tender and will develop that liver like taste when over cooked.

Serve over rice or egg noodles.

Soak in Italian dressing for a few hours then grill. My daughter will eat every piece so I have to eat quick.

Flour and brown put into pot of 1/2 water 1/2 chicken stock with whole yellow onion and 2 onion mushroom soup mixes in it. Let simmer add salt pepper and garlic to taste.simmer for 2 to 3 hrs stirring and chking flavor as ot goes. Should be a medium thick brown gravy when done. Serve with mashed tators or over rice. Its simple and my family loves it. Deer works exactly same way

I just make plain ol' cutlets and brown gravy. Brown on both sides, and add brown gravy mix/water. Serve over rice with collards. Easy to make, just takes a bit to make the cutlets tender.
