Shoot Reminder Cowtown Bowmen NFAA Field Shoot #1 this weekend, April 11th & 12th, re

Alrighty everyone, this coming weekend is Cowtown Bowmen's 1st NFAA Field Shoot, so come on out and give it a go. For most of us, this will be our first field shoot ever, so our Field Director, Gerri Dye, has put together a little intro sheet [see attached] that explains scoring, etc. Registration will begin at 8am, shotgun start both days at 10am, so please be sure to be there early enough to get registered and appointed a lane to start on before start time.
Looking forward to seeing everyone out there, should be an amazing weekend of shooting. Come on our and support our club and this new exciting range of archery.
    Thank you,
    Chuck Hubbard
    Cowtown Bowmen President

This sounds interesting and fun. What will be the maximum yardage for any given target? If I did not have to work I'd go give it a try.

I believe it is 80yds in a Field Archery shoot. I have shot field archery tournaments in the past. They can be greuling for a guy with no sights, but it is also fun to watch your arrow fly on the looooong shots.

80 yards... Now that's stretching the tape a bit. But it's cool to watch the flight of the arrow on long shots!
Oh well, maybe I'll be able to shoot one of the field archery rounds some other day. Work gets in the way of having fun.

Yes, one of the targets is an 80 yard walk up, so you shoot one arrow at 80, 70, 60, then 50. I can tell you by the time you get to 50, it looks like the target is huge. :-) Had my first field experience at this shoot and I can tell you although it was exhausting [112 arrows overall], it was also a blast and I will certainly be doing it again. Our next NFAA SYWAT Outdoor field shoot in May30-31, so come on our to Cowtown and give her a go. You won't be sorry. :-)
