    2007 Duramax....thinking of buying one

I always get good advice on GS so....2007 crew cab, has a tool box/40 gallon tank, has 107k miles, Se sort of tumer, know the owner well and he takes care of his stuff... Sure all the maintenance was done....any concerns with this truck/engine combo? I drove it and it runs good, pretty fast even, seems to "float" a little around 70 pulse but it has slightly oversized tires that are nearly new and my 99 3/4 ton seems to float with new tires so I wasn't concerned.
    Thoughts?

I drive an '05 Duramax with 230,000 miles. Plan on trying to get 500,00 out of her. Still runs strong. I wouldn't be concerned with 107,000 if you know the original owner did normal maintenance on engine oil & transmission. Good truck.

Just noticed you asked about "float". I have had to change both front wheel hub/bearing units around 100,000. Jack up each front wheel, grab tire at 12 & 6 o,clock & see if there is any play. Hubs are around $250 if you replace yourself. Mine is 4WD.

I would really take it to a Chevy or GM dealer for inspection. They can take a much deeper look into the Engine, transmission and overall truck inspection. Consider also taking it to a reputable diesel fuel injection shop. The Allison tranny is solid and perhaps the best in the market for HD trucks.
I have a Banks 6 Gun Tuner, Cold air intake and scoop if interested.

I had one for seven years... Great ride! I had 280k on it and it probably easily ha another 100k in it if I hadn't got the itch for a new one......

New or old body style. 2007 was a split year. Mine is an 07.5 (new body style)

If it is an 07 classic then it has the lbz motor and that is one bad dude!! If it is the classic it will have the 6 speed trans unlike the years before.

Yes sir that's what I drive, the 07 LBZ. I wouldn't worry about the miles either way but if it's an LBZ that's a very desirable truck

I know a guy that has reached 500,000 on his last two silverado 2500 gas engines. I would think 107k on a duramax is just breaking it in.
