Yes I got drawn for the hunt in dec. and was wondering if anyone has hunted it. Sorry for being so general.

No fault of your own. I've never been labeled as the smartest one in the room.

I can tell you this. If the acorns are heavy there like they are in northern Uvalde county this year. Try to find some big live oaks. They will drop through December and the bucks will be feeding on those untill they are gone. Our lease is 4000 acres and our mature bucks have not been coming to the feeders at all! Its was like this last year also. Good Luck!!

A friend and I hunted it last year on a gde hunt. I wound up with a nice 8 point and he got a doe and a spike. They draw names for compartments but will take into consideration if you want to be in the bottoms or up in the hills. I recommend the bottoms. I wound up setting up a pop-up blind on a power line right of way and since baiting was allowed I put corn down the line in both directions. The buck I shot didnt come in to bait but rather followed my trail in after spraying the soles of my boots with Golden Estrus. Good luck and let us know how you do.

The only exotics they have are aoudads and some mexican goats. The aoudads are up in the hills and very few people get one according to the rangers. I wound up have two doing battle not far from me and it was loud! The goats are in a valley that takes a pretty good hike to get to.
