    CentexRanchers Fabricating/Ranching Build Thread

Hello all im new to this site but have been browsing for some time now. Figured i should just go ahead and start a build thread for all the projects around the ranch. I will be referring to we throughout my posts since it will be my father and I completing these projects. As a single father with 2 kids and a 24 hr business he has no time for posting. We are not from the country but from Houston. Growing up my father never had any money for things so his father showed him how to build and fix whatever he wanted. And thats what my father did with me. Now I run the ranch much like my father did with his fathers farm at my age. If we had to pay for someone to fix/maintain all the equipment and land we would be dead broke lol. So we are always fabricating and fixing things. First project i will share is the cummins jeep. More pics will come as we are always busy with projects so sit tight and wait for the next post!

Project one Cummins Jeep! My father and i are cummins fanatics so when the jeep broke down one day we just said the heck with it and tore the old inline 6 out. This is what i use to check fences feed and hunt so its not going to be a full restore, we just wanted something reliable. We went buy the seat of our pants as we weren't going for perfection just functionality. We are about done except for ignition and lighting.

Heres the piece of junk before lol crappy inline 6. Runs good but we love cummins lol.

I left for college and came back one weekend and he had the motor in and ready to weld. So i welded the motor mounts in and got it set level in place.

I welded a new bed in and welded all the holes in the body/floorboards. Then my dad sprayed it with a color we thought would blend in good.

50'' light bar since you cant see 2 feet in front of you with stock lights.

The one thing we didnt do our selves was the seats. Since my dad knows i like tactical stuff, he surprised me and took them to a guy and had holsters/mag pouches sewn in. I also will be fabricating a gun rack of some sort when we finish all the other main stuff. Note they are just set in not bolted.

My dad has a bad addiction thats taking over his life.... Its already rubbing off on me. We have an obession with having the right tool for the job. So we are always buying new toys. His most recent purchase was a paint gun.... So he had a ball painting with his new toy.

Man, I love fixing stuff but isn't replacing an inline 6 with a Cummins in a Jeep kinda like STUFFING DOLLY PARTON'S BRA?

We picked up the motor of CL without knowing if it ran and took it back to the shop to change oil/fuel filter. Was cranking but not starting. First thought was maybe theres too much air in the lines so we continued to bleed them. After that didnt work we decided to just pull the fuel plunger as they sometimes get stuck... Did that and it fired right up. Love the simplicity of the 4bt. I can count all the wires in this rig on one hand! It was full of wires that previous owners had rigged up for years so we cut everything out and started from scratch.
