    Best Feeder for Coon Deterrent??

The coons are killing us at my new lease in Mason. We have community stands & feeder. Most of the feeders are old, and the coons keep pulling off the varmint cages. Thinking about replacing some feeders next year. What kind of feeders are best for coon deterrent? Also what the percent of corn are you saving vs. feeders without any devices

    Winch Up Feeders?
    Feeders with Varmint Cages?
    Feeders with Eliminator Type plates?

    Any info would be appreciated

An eliminator plate with a varmint cage has worked great for me. I had so much trouble with coons for the longest. A cage alone won't work, I have pictures of coons reaching through and pulling out corn still and hanging off them. A smart coon will hang off the eliminator plate and still get corn, but that doesn't happen very often. But with both, there's no way they are getting corn

I make my own varmint cages out of 1" mesh wire. Make them the same diameter as the 55-gal drum, and I attach them to the drum with a ratchet strap. So far no pics of 'coon gymnastics either.

          Kind of hard to see--

Our only feeder that doesnt have a coon problem is our winch up feeder. If you are thinking about getting new feeders I would go that route.

                  Invest in coon cuffs!

Spend a good solid weekend at the lease and you will put a huge dent in the pop.

I do the same as DUSTOFFER, build the cage as big as possible.

I've got a coon problem myself. I'll shoot/trap 5 or 6 of them and a week later there are 5 or 6 more.

A varmint cage that goes around the entire barrel and the eliminator spin plate

Eliminator spin plates did away with our coon problems. We don't even have cages on the feeders anymore and what few coons you see on camera are on the ground. They can't get the corn out of the feeder with the Eliminator on it.

Take some axle grease doesn't matter which kind and generously apply it to the 2-3ft nearest your spinner. If they are serious coons mix in cayenne pepper. Coons are meticulous on how they eat and their cleanliness. Try this trick and I bet they won't get up there. Been doing it for a year now works like a charm!
