If you can get your uric acid levels below six by using allopurinol or Uloric, chronic medication, the flares should go away. American College of rheumatology recommendations.

I have it. Diagnosed when I was in medical school. Probably 17-18 years ago. It sucks but I take allopurinol daily. Very rare for me to have a flare up no days. When it gets bad it is absolutely awful. I always felt like I had ground glass in my ankle when it flared.

Last few months it has been mid 7s. Four months ago I had to a shot, both feet and a knee. I guy could starve on the low uric diet.

3 times a week to start. (I now do it once a week)
Shot glass-50-50 mix honey and Apple cider vinegar.
I have it bad. Since I've been doing this.
I haven't taken any allapuronal or had an attack in over a year.

Sweet deal, I'll try this mix. I thought I would eat healthier and increase my fiber intake, BAD idea, increases uric acid.

Been on uloric for a year and a half. First time if thought I had broken my big toe. So far I have had one major flare up after a night of strong drink and oysters and a nice steak. Gout sucks!!!!

                      Allopurinol every day.

I have a stash of Indomethacin for when I have a flare up. Knocks it right out.

So what are the symptoms? It is a major pain in your ankles/feet type of deal? Wonder why some people get it and some don't. Sounds painful.

It's difficult to control gout with diet changes alone. At least it was for me. You probably will have to take allopurinol forever to keep uric acid levels in line.
