Hey Im new to bow hunting and just ordered my first bow. I went with the PSE stinger 3G (value to price ratio was too good to pass up for a first bow) and will have it in hand by Wednesday. It will most likely be set to 65 or 70lbs and I was curious what the GS thought about what arrows have worked well for you guys as I have no idea which ones to get. I'll get to tips later but as far as the shafts do you guys have any input? Thanks.

Just remember, as long as you get the spine right, most arrows will out perform what you want them for, no matter how much they cost.
Most will come in .003 straightness, the lesser priced will be .006 and the really expensive will be.001. 99% of most bowhunters would not be able to tell the difference when shooting them.

For you, I would first want to know if you are good at judging yardage. Since you say you are new, I will assume you are working on improving. So I am wondering if you will primarly be hunting a feeder and almost all your shots will be at a known distance. I love heavy arrows, but lighter arrows will cover up more mistakes when you think a deer is at 20 and he is at 30.
Light arrows will shoot flat, and you won't be punished as bad for guessing the wrong yardage on a deer. But you will lose out on penetration.
Heavy arrows will punish you if you guess the wrong distance since your pins will be further apart than with the light arrows. But the heavy arrows will push right through that deer, and create a much shorter blood trail. Plus if you use heavy arrows, the extra Kenitic energy will help open mechanical blades if you go that route.
I shoot heavy arrows. Love the Easton FMJ arrows.

Most set-ups on whitetail over feeders at under 30 yards will not matter with a heavy over light arrow except for noise level. The heavy will be quieter, get there a tad slower and the light arrow will be noisier and get there quicker. Your choice. I prefer heavy, 560 grains! Heavier arrows will maintain speed better at longer distances also.
