    Starting point?

Let me start by saying that i am trad ignorant and this is going to be a "for fun" set up. I inherited my grandfathers 1971ish Bear recurve and would like to shoot it again.

I think that I understand finding the perfect arrow for a bow is a process. My question is where do you start with finding the right setup? I do remember shooting this bow about 20 years ago with Easton aluminum arrows, but have no clue on the arrow specs as I was only 11.

The bow is a 58" Grizzly and specs at 45 pounds. Any advise for getting her shooting again are appreciated.

My best piece of advice is to find some trad guys in your area to help you out. If you are in Lewisville, there are a ton of trad guys up there (DFW area). Most anyone would be willing to help you out.

I would recommend goldtip 3555s. I also highly recommend bare shaft tuning to find the right arrow length. However, you can probably get by with shooting them full length. They won't fly perfect but they will fly fine for you to fart around with. If you like it, you can research bare shaft tuning and go from there. Bare shaft tuning works for wheel bows as well so it is good knowledge to have in your arsenal.
