    Long draw selfbows

Are there many/any selfbows that will hold up to a 30in draw? Any particular woods, etc?

    #2
Yes .I recommend 1 " limb for every inch of draw. Get you a osage stave 71" long . At fades 1 1/2" wide, midlimb 1 1/8 " wide , 5/16 at string noch . 9 1/2" handle. or call me and I will build you one for 550.

osage will hold it,,,hickory..it depends more on length of the bow and how well its tillered for that draw...64" on a longbow will hndle 30/32" draw.

This has been my experience with selfbows!^^^^^^^^

Arvin is the guy to listen to about selfbows. He did not get the name "Selfbowman" for nothing!

I would feel better with a 66" minimum myself. My general rule would be 2x your draw plus 10%. not a hard and fast rule but a good guide.
