    Thoughts on Diamond Razor Edge

I just picked up a 2012 Diamond Razor Edge for my son to get into shooting. I have read a lot of reviews and was wondering what the GS thought.

Is it a good bow for newbies?

I helped my niece to buy a used one a couple years back. It shoots pretty well. She shoots it pretty well. I kept turning it up as she shot trying to get her up to a stiff enough pull to kill a deer. I got it a little too stiff, and it cost her a chip shot at a nice 8 point. I took a turn back off and when it was measured she was still pulling 43 lbs. At that pull she zipped an arrow through a medium sized doe with a FMJ tipped with a Ramcat, and the arrow traveled another 20 yards after passing through.

This little bow will shoot well enough to get your boy started, there's no question. It will kill a deer if your boy does his part.

      They are good bows.
I would suggest to get better sights and rest than the stock ones.
Easy to tune and shoots really well

My son who is now 17 has been shooting one for several years. Each year we simply increase the draw weight and sight it. He has killed several deer and a turkey with it. As mentioned above, I put a better sight on it. It is a great little bow and will last him several years.
