I bought a 2013 Hoyt Spyder from a fellow TBH'er, today. It has a QAD drop-away rest.
I changed the DL from 29" to 31", which was a snap, since you just change the module.
This is my first experience with a drop-away, and I assumed that I would need to adjust the string that attaches to the rest.
After looking at the rest, I realized the string attaches to the bus cable, not the draw string. Then I remembered that the RKT cam design is such that the cams are supposed to make the same amount of rotation, regardless of which DL module is used.
So I don't think the string length on the rest needs to be changed. I shot the bow after changing the DL modules, and it was spot on at the 20 yd pin, and the rest seemed to be working like it should, and the string doesn't look to be under excess pressure.
Can anyone confirm/deny my thought process?
Thanks!!
