I had a couple of old 6V Wildview Trailcams laying around that weren't worth selling so I decided to make good use of them.
I hate buying a million C-batteries so I hook all of the cameras up to deep cycle batteries and put solar panels on them so I always have up to date pictures to look at when I get to the ranch. Those aren't easy to move.
I decided to make these so I can move them around easily and use them at my cousins place when I'm hunting pigs.
I've got T-posts at all of my blinds already so it's just a matter of securing and turning them on.
I figure with the solar panel and 2 6Vs I should get 3-4 weeks worth of pictures before the batteries go dead but I only really plan on using them for no more than 5 days at a time. Then I can just leave them in the sun when not in use and they'll be all charged up for my next trip.
Being self-contained these will be a lot easier to strap on to the 4-wheeler.
The ammo box was $9
The t-post connectors were $1 each.
The 6V batteries were $5 ea at Buccees.
The 6V solar panel was $14 at Buccees (already had it)
The connectors etc were $5 give or take.
Not wasting time at blinds that arent being hit and never running out of C-batteries.... priceless
