Could these 2 possibly be the same buck?

The first picture is from a buck I saw 1 time last year and then we had some pictures of him on TC after the season. The 2nd one has been seen this year on TC but nobody has seen him live. The there are some similarties between the 2 bucks but I just can't see a deer putting on that much mass in 1 year!

We do feed lots of protein, they have unlimited water year around and we had good spring rains but can a deer make that big of a jump in 1 year?

This is a crappy picture of the 2nd buck. A picture was printed off of the TC pictures and then a phone picture was taken of that!

Good possibility. I've seen a bought and paid for breeder buck go from an 9pt to a 12pt in one year. You would have never thought he was the same buck. But ear tags don't lie.

it looks like it to me. The tines follow the same patterns in both pics. also the nose is pretty close to the same as is the left eye having more white over it than the right

I would say that's the same deer! Heck of a buck!

        Look at browtines and G2's

I honestly think its the same deer. One thing we all have to remember is that the velvet always makes the rack look like it has more mass than it actually does. Don't get me wrong, that deer has good mass anyway, but the velvet amplifies it.

i see too many differences, the frame is similar but the beams don't look the same to me

              i'm going with no

The first deer appears to be a 4 1/2 yr old. I've never seen a deer make that big of a jump from 4-5. That being said, it's made more difficult because the second picture is still in velvet and makes the two look even more different.
                I think it's a solid maybe.

I'm a no as well. too many differences. pictures not clear enough to see any body or face markings or the lack of a distinctive throat patch on the 1st deer, can't see on 2nd deer.

I wish I had a better picture of both of them.

I see some similarities in the brow tine and both deer have a split tine on each side, though you can't real life y see it in these pictures. Also some facial similarities too but its still hard to sat. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can post some LDP's and at that point who gives a **** if it's the same deer!

I'm gonna say yes.. Judging off the brows and the G2 on his left side.. But my gosh if it is the same deer he BLEW UP... i bet if you get a pic with him out of velvet it will look more like he did last year though... but with those pics theres not really any way for this to be more than a guess

This (those) bucks, along with all of our other good buxcks have disappeared for the last month or so. I'm hoping some of them decide to show back up pretty soon.

And like you said, if this is the same deer, what a change in 1 year! Very impressive to say the least!
