    DIY Rustic Home Furniture

I had some time off between relocating for my new work assignment, so I figured while I was home I’d build me some furniture to use while I’m on the road. I typically move about every 6-8 months as I am in independent contractor specializing in Nuclear Power Plant Major Projects. I just moved from Arkansas to Jackson, Mississippi to the Entergy Corporate office and I was told that I could be here for a few years, so the furniture really came in handy. The first is a rolling cart that I found in a dumpster, I bolted some 1x2’s to the sides and added some 1x6’s, and turned it into a pretty neat little TV stand. I etched the art work into it with my drimel tool then added a couple of coats of polyurethane to give it a nice glossy look. I figured I needed something to accompany the lonely TV stand so I built an end table to go next to my recliner and a coffee table as well. I attached a power strip to the end table to make it easier to plug in things like cell phone, lap top, ipad, etc… Keep in mind that I am just a HALF FAST carpenter so my work will be below par for some of you experts, but I am always open to advice on what I could have done to make it look nicer!
