    Helical

Those that shoot or fletch a helical, what degree do you use and why?

    #2
What ever the jig has because it is impossible to change.

Just make sure the base is seated evenly from front to back, and the offset and degrees of rotation will take care of itself. No one sells jigs with adjustable degree of rotation.

Do most jigs come with the same degree them?

Yes. As far as anyone can tell, they are all the same.

Offset fletching can be in varying degrees, helical is helical.

???? I could be mistaken, but I believe the Bitzengurgers are adjustable, and I know my Bohning is as well. Now, there are limits to the amount of helical you can put on a given shaft, but that's based on shaft diameter and getting total vane-shaft contact.

6 degree helical. Blazer Vanes. And yes they stick to the shaft perfectly with that much twist.

A Bitz is adjustable. So is a Jo-Jan.

                  Stupid smart phone. Quoted myself!

Bitz is adjustable but only to accommodate/fit different diameter shafts.

Helical is determined by the clamp, and is not adjustable. The position of where the vane sets, and the front to back relationship is adjustable, and that is actually the offset.

A straight clamp can have 6 degree offset front to back. Change to a helical clamp, then you have a helical vane with a 6 degree offset.

Wrong. On a Jo Jan its the clamp and the body is adjustable as well.

If the front is directly in line with the back it has zero offset, regardless of the clamp used. Straight, right helical and left helical are determined by the clamp, and offset is set by adjusting the placement onto the shaft.

You cannot increase or decrease the amount of turn the clamp puts into the vae, only where it sits Ina front to back relation, on all brands. And yes, I have used all major, and some minor brand fletching equipment.
