    Chaffhaye!

I ha heard about it on here and sounded like a little thing I could try to get my exotics more regularly at my setups. Asked for a bag last time I bought feed and the store just gave me 3 bags free! I put it all out in piles at a few spots and my lord the animals crush it! I hardly got any pics of my deer at the corn or protien. It didn't do much for making the exotics more common because the wt ate it like nobody's business. Few questions......
How healthy is the stuff, protien nutrient wise?
How do you guys put it out? Piles or in a little device to keep it off the ground?
Is it worth it to put it out every time or just when I wanna hunt it?

I put it out when I hunt.

No device here to keep it off The ground, b/c it doesn't last long.

The more often you put it out, the more the animals will look for it. Since it is molases-coated alfalfa, it is high in protein. Like said above, it doesn't last very long so just throw it on the ground in small chunks. JMO

Where do you find this stuff? I called a local feed store and they didn't have it. Thanks

            Yep....What Hammer said^^^^^

The deer love it. You can smell that stuff for a LONG ways off. Lol

The good thing about the Chaffhaye is there is no waste....They clean up every drop of it. Lol.

In the off season....I try and bring a new bag of it on every trip I make to the lease. I'm paying $13.50 for it in San Angelo. Normally, I corn my road on every trip but this has taken the place of it for now...not much difference in price but its better for 'em.

I'll pick back up on the road feeding a little closer to the season.

One way to keep it off the ground, is with one of those hay racks or whatever they are called. Same way you feed hay to horses, or feed alfalfa to deer. Throwing it on the ground is just as good though, as they will eat it all up. The stuff works great. Animals love it...
